Five Flavour
This is not a recipe.
This is the combination, or attachment, of 5 different cookie doughs into one log. It's a great way to use excess dough.
This is the combination, or attachment, of 5 different cookie doughs into one log. It's a great way to use excess dough.
Note, cookie shown below is before baking. After baking, the doughs meld into each other. Each bite is a different flavour making these cookies fun to eat.
Ingredients
- 5 different cookie doughs (handful of each)
- 1 egg (for eggwash)
- Sanding sugar or crushed nuts for edge
Preparation
- Roll each dough into thin 1/2" diameter logs, 10" in length.
- Connect the five logs into one log.
- Wrap with cling film. Roll the log into a rounded shape. The log should be less than 2" in diameter.
- Put the log into the storage tube. Close both ends. Roll the storage tube to further shape the dough.
- After the logs have chilled for a minimum of 3 hours, take out of the tubes.
- Brush the logs with an egg wash and roll in sanding sugar or crushed nuts. This step is optional… but do it if you want a nice edge to the cookies.
- Slice the log into 1/4” to 1/2" thick cookies. Remember to roll the log slightly (about 1/8) after each slice to prevent the log from flattening from the weight of the knife. It keeps the cookies round with each slice.
- Place the cookies on parchment or silpat lined baking sheet. Leave about 1” between cookies.
- Bake in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for 15 to 18 minutes. Cookies should be slightly brown.
- Let cookies cool on baking sheet for a few minutes and then transfer to wire racks.
